We’ve got rides suitable for people of all fitness levels who want to get into riding on roads with others in a club setting. We have a simple aim of getting as many people out on their bikes as possible… and enjoying it!
Most of us would agree that cycling in a group is more enjoyable and improves performance faster than cycling alone. We welcome new members who want to ride with others and improve their abilities and fitness.
Our activities primarily take in the wonderful Yorkshire Dales offering members some of the United Kingdom’s most stunning scenery, varied terrain and quiet roads on which to enjoy their cycling. We also ride out into Lancashire and from time to time venture further afield on special club rides.
Dictated mainly by the interests of our current members, we focus on providing road cycling and currently we offer a variety of distances and pace. Rides are run on Saturday and Sunday mornings, Monday and Wednesday evenings, plus Wednesday day time and a Women’s only ride is organised on a Thursday evening.
All details are posted up on the clubs Facebook page. Ride details will usually include a route, an average pace, details of the ride structure and the ride leader.
For all rides, please make sure you are familiar with the Group Riding Guidance.
Saturday morning rides are for distances of approx. 50 or 30 miles usually with a café stop. The 50-mile ride is divided into suitable groups. These are “no drop rides” with catch-ups to ensure no one is left behind.
On a Sunday morning the ride is at an inclusive, social pace for a distance of about 25 to 30 miles with a café stop.
The Monday night ride starts at 6.30pm and is about 25 miles.
On Wednesday there is a ride at 9.30am of about 50-60 miles, plus an evening at 6.30pm of about 25 miles.
Thursday night is the women’s only ride. It is 1.5 hours in duration and starts at 6.30pm.
